Start with the production record
Keep the VIN, original sales market, production label and full vehicle description with the order. Use the generation names as identification context, not as a promise that every part within that generation interchanges.
Body and region before collision parts
The fifth-generation family includes a dedicated European body and longer-wheelbase versions for other markets. Compare the actual front and rear body, door openings and lamp layout. Facelift and trim details belong on the same record as the body, particularly for panels and lighting.
Match the Front Bumper and Headlights to the same regional front-end design before approving a collision-parts order.
Do not map old running gear onto a new crossover
Early Sportage brake and steering requirements can differ fundamentally from later vehicles. Identify drum-brake, hydraulic steering and selectable-4WD hardware directly rather than using the current model as a visual reference.
Organize mixed applications
Separate order lines when the body, engine, axle, side or destination specification changes. Keep photographs attached to the appropriate line so a correct part image is not mistaken for another generation in the same spreadsheet.
