BYD Seal Model, Market & Drive Identification

A Seal parts inquiry needs more than the sales name.

Component illustrations for assembly identification. Confirm exact vehicle fitment and supplied contents separately.

Vehicle and market boundaries

Vehicle recordConfigurationSelection boundary
Original Seal electric sedanBattery-electric four-door sedanRecord original market, production label, full trim and RWD/AWD. Do not select by registration year alone.
Rear-wheel driveRear traction unit and rear drive shaftsDo not add front CV shafts to an RWD quotation. Confirm side and rear drive-unit identification.
All-wheel driveFront and rear traction unitsSeparate front and rear shafts, mounts and related carrier requirements. An AWD badge does not identify every brake or damper variant.
Suspension architectureDouble-wishbone front; multi-link rearIdentify each wishbone/link position. Do not transfer a generic MacPherson strut or torsion-beam parts list.
UK 2026 exampleDesign RWD; Excellence AWD with variable-frequency dampersThis is a market-year example, not a worldwide rule. Match the installed damper label and equipment.
Body and equipment revisionsSedan boot lid, concealed handles, market-specific lampsUK 2026 storage and trim changes do not establish panel interchange. Compare mounting points and equipment directly.
Other Seal namesSeal U, Seal 5/6/07 DM-i and other distinct modelsKeep these applications and Sealion models outside the original Seal sedan order.

Start with the full vehicle identity

Establish that the vehicle is the original battery-electric sedan, then record its production label, original country specification and complete trim. Seal U, Seal 5/6/07 DM-i and other similarly named models must remain separate.

Make the drive layout explicit

A rear-wheel-drive car uses its rear drive unit and rear half shafts. An all-wheel-drive version also has front drive hardware. Photograph the relevant installed assembly and keep axle and side on each order line; a generic electric-sedan description does not resolve these differences.

Identify suspension equipment independently

The original Seal uses double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear. The UK 2026 Excellence AWD specification adds variable-frequency dampers, while Design is rear-wheel drive. Use these as identification examples only: the car being repaired needs its own damper markings and market-year record.

Treat registration year as supporting information

A late registration can refer to an earlier production specification. The UK 2026 update changed storage arrangements and some trim, but those changes do not prove every older and newer panel interchanges. Compare the actual mounting interfaces, body photographs and original markings.

Retain the original market after import

Steering position, lamp beam requirements, electronics and equipment do not automatically change when the car moves to a new country. Record destination requirements separately from the original assembly so the quotation can identify any unresolved difference.

Keep uncertain lines visible

Use one vehicle record with separately labelled component requests. Where a reference or equipment match remains unresolved, mark that line for confirmation rather than assigning the closest-looking part from another Seal nameplate.

Related selection checks

Keep shock absorber specification, shock mount contents and coil spring load identity separate when assessing the same suspension corner; locate the control arm before comparing attachments.

Locate the stabilizer link on its identified stabilizer bar, then compare the mounting arrangement against the subframe and adjacent control arm. Do not merge different rear links under one bar description.

For the specified driven axle, keep CV axle splines and length with the wheel hub bearing interface; identify the drive-unit drive unit mount and subframe independently for RWD or AWD.

Continue the order

Return to the Seal system directory. For commercial information, use the parts-list quotation guide; keep vehicle-specific identification with each requested assembly.
