BYD Seal RWD/AWD Chassis & Brake Parts Guide
A Seal chassis order should identify front suspension, rear suspension and driven shafts as separate groups.
Split the order by axle and drive unit
RWD cars require rear shaft identification; AWD cars need the additional front drive location recorded. Do not turn an AWD parts list into an RWD quotation by removing only the front motor.
Locate the individual wishbone or rear link
Front upper and lower arms and the different rear multi-link arms have separate attachment geometry. Use an installed-location photograph or position diagram with each arm. Keep bush and joint contents explicit; a complete arm and a separately serviceable joint are different requests.
Retain damper specification with the corner record
Record axle, side, upper/lower mountings and full damper markings. Variable-frequency dampers documented for UK Excellence AWD are an equipment distinction, not an interchangeable upgrade inferred from appearance. An assembled damper picture also does not include springs and mounts unless the quotation says so.
Identify the actual friction brake package
Use measured rotor dimensions, pad backing plates and caliper markings rather than wheel diameter alone. Separate front and rear orders and distinguish a bare caliper body from an assembly with carrier or parking motor. Regenerative braking does not identify the required friction components.
Keep hub, upright and sensor interfaces together
At each wheel, compare the hub seat, driven interface where present, speed-sensor mounting and brake attachment. A new knuckle casting is not automatically supplied with the bearing and hub. Record each included component before approving a complete corner package.
Check mounting datums after a collision
Carrier, arm and upright damage can coexist even when only one part is visibly distorted. Have a qualified repairer identify structural and alignment requirements before ordering replacement assemblies; do not use a parts list as a substitute for collision assessment.
Related selection checks
At the same wheel, match brake pads to the installed brake caliper, measure brake discs, and retain the correct brake hose routing. These checks define separate supply lines, not an automatic replacement kit.
On an identified rear brake assembly, distinguish the parking brake actuator from the hydraulic brake caliper; select brake pads using the fitted caliper profile.
A wheel warning requires diagnosis: the ABS wheel speed sensor works with the wheel hub bearing encoder at the steering knuckle, while the TPMS sensor measures tire pressure through a separate system.
