Honda City buying guide
Honda City Maintenance & Transmission Parts Guide
Prepare separate filter, ignition and gearbox requests for petrol, diesel and hybrid City vehicles.
Build service packs by engine
A petrol service pack can include spark plugs and coils; a diesel request needs its own filtration and glow-plug specification. Older dual-ignition applications require an explicit plug quantity. Do not copy a later engine pack onto an earlier vehicle.
Identify the gearbox before selecting a filter
Record manual, conventional automatic, CVT or the precise hybrid architecture. State internal strainer or external filter position, sealing parts and quantity. Manual clutch kits exclude the i-DCD clutch pack and e:HEV transmission.
Agree repeat-order contents
Keep filter dimensions, media grade, plug specification and belt marking with the agreed application. Quote per piece, set or service pack explicitly so carton quantities can be compared.
Maintenance, Filters & Ignition
Separate petrol ignition, diesel starting aids and transmission service before specifying repeat-order packs.
| Component | Selection boundary |
|---|---|
City intake housings vary across naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0 turbo and diesel engines. Match the element to the actual airbox rather than the registration year. Compare engine and fuel type; panel outline and depth; perimeter seal. | |
Choose the passenger-compartment filter by tray dimensions and airflow orientation. Specify particulate or carbon media after confirming the HVAC housing. Compare HVAC tray size; element depth and tabs; media grade. | |
Keep the filter interface with the City engine record. Compare thread, sealing diameter and clearance before accepting a substitute canister. Compare engine code; thread and seal diameter; canister clearance. | |
Separate a petrol in-tank strainer or filter housing from a diesel service filter. Ask whether the quote includes the filter only or surrounding module pieces. Compare petrol or diesel fuel system; filter location and connections; housing and seal inclusion. | |
Identify manual, conventional automatic, CVT or hybrid transmission before specifying a strainer. Retain the gearbox code and filter location on the order. Compare transmission identification; internal or external position; port and gasket layout. | |
Petrol City plug requests need engine family, reach and heat specification. Earlier dual-ignition versions require a different quantity check from later engines. Compare petrol engine and ignition layout; thread and reach; heat specification and quantity. | |
For City i-DTEC diesel applications, identify the glow-plug electrical specification and fitted engine before ordering a set. Compare diesel engine code; voltage and connector; thread and heated-tip length. | |
Match the coil position and connector to the petrol engine. Coil-on-plug layouts and older dual-ignition arrangements need separate references. Compare petrol engine and coil position; connector key; boot length and fixing lug. | |
Use the installed accessory route and belt marking to identify a replacement. Different City engines and electrical architectures need different accessory lists. Compare engine and accessory route; rib count and length; existing belt marking. | |
Specify a complete tensioner arm or a pulley-only requirement. Check whether the vehicle uses an automatic or manually adjusted arrangement. Compare adjustment arrangement; mounting centers; pulley diameter and offset. | |
Quote disc, pressure plate and release components for conventional manual City gearboxes. State petrol or diesel and the exact gearbox. Compare manual gearbox and engine; disc diameter and spline; release component inclusion. |
Continue with the same vehicle details
Use the City component directory to identify other assemblies for the same vehicle. Once the part specifications are clear, check shipping and quotation requirements for quantities, packing and destination details.
Auto parts inquiry
Send the vehicle and part evidence.
Include brand, full model, year, engine or EV drivetrain, OE/material code, quantity, destination and packing request. You can attach a list or old-part photos.
