Decision workflow

Turn a broad RAV4 request into traceable inquiry lines.

1. Name the drive layout

Record FWD, mechanical AWD or electrified rear drive together with engine or hybrid system and transmission/transaxle code.

2. Do not mix rear systems

A mechanical propeller shaft and rear differential are not substitutes for an electric rear drive unit used by an E-Four application.

3. Check axle and hub interfaces

Add front/rear, left/right, spline counts, ABS encoder, flange, compressed length and adjoining transmission or rear-drive interface.

4. Match suspension load

Engine, battery, AWD hardware, grade, wheel package and towing/load equipment can alter spring and damper requirements.

Evidence hierarchy

Use the strongest available evidence without forcing an OE number.

Vehicle evidence

VIN/chassis context, generation, build date, market, grade, powertrain and drive layout define the application.

Part evidence

Use a reliable OE/reference when available; otherwise use labels, interfaces, position, dimensions and old-part photos.

Commercial evidence

Quantity, grade, sample status, packing, destination and approved alternatives define what is quoted.

Auto parts inquiry

Send the vehicle and part evidence.

Include brand, full model, year, engine or EV drivetrain, OE/material code, quantity, destination and packing request. You can attach a list or old-part photos.
