MG HS Generations, Markets & Body Revisions

Identify MG HS SUV generations, original markets and body revisions. Compare fascia, lamps, doors and equipment, not treating aliases as interchange approval.

Start with the complete HS body record

Separate the earlier HS SUV, its market-specific facelifts and the newer generation before comparing replacement panels or equipment. Registration year is not always the production revision. Retain the original sales market, production label and full front/rear photographs; grille shape alone cannot identify the engine, drivetrain or complete collision-parts set.

Keep sales names useful, not interchangeable

HS, earlier EHS plug-in naming and newer Super Hybrid wording can help locate a market record. They do not approve another body or powertrain. A supplier may also mention MG GS, Roewe RX5 or Pilot in the same catalogue; that shared listing is not permission to substitute their lamp perimeter, body mounts or wiring for the installed HS.

Compare body interfaces before trim

Identify the lamp-to-fender and bumper-to-grille edges together with the bonnet leading edge. At the rear, preserve hatch-mounted and body-side lamps, reflector positions, latch and wiper interfaces. A facelift can change fascia equipment without proving that every surrounding shell is different or shared; each accepted mounting record decides the request.

Preserve original steering and equipment markets

Use the actual LHD/RHD beam specification for lamps and steering/HVAC context for mirrors, racks and cabin components. Retain camera, radar, parking-sensor and trim functions where fitted. An exterior photo establishes body identification context, not the connector or software configuration of hidden equipment.

Keep a mixed-generation list separated

For multiple workshop or fleet requests, group each item under its original HS generation, market and installed label. Do not combine earlier petrol, old plug-in and newer hybrid rows into one fitment-approved set. Unresolved body edges or missing component markings remain open quotation questions rather than assumed matches.

Continue with component interfaces

Once the body is identified, compare HS lamp, door and hatch equipment for sockets, mounting and supplied assembly contents.

Separate HS drive records

HS drive programmeVehicle recordPurchasing boundary
MG HS PetrolOriginal HS generation and market, 1.5T or confirmed earlier 2.0T engine, manual/DCT label and FWD/AWD recordEarlier, facelift and second-generation petrol bodies remain separate. A manual clutch does not fit DCT equipment; AWD driveline items require an actual earlier 2.0T AWD build.
MG HS Plug-in Hybrid / EHSExact plug-in sales name, earlier or new generation, engine and hybrid-drive label, original market and production dateEarlier EHS/HS PHEV drive and newer plug-in/Super Hybrid equipment are not one gearbox or thermal programme. A charge socket does not make this vehicle a BEV.
MG HS Hybrid+Newer HS Hybrid+ generation, turbo engine, dedicated hybrid transmission and original marketHybrid+ is non-plug-in; distinguish it from HS Plug-in Hybrid and from naturally aspirated ZS Hybrid+. Do not infer ordinary petrol charging, starting or AWD equipment.

Related assembly comparisons

Keep the headlights perimeter with the accepted front bumper fascia revision.

The front grille badge and sensor seats must be identified independently; a similar mesh is not a complete front-end fitment record.

Compare the fender lamp and door meeting edges with the hood / bonnet leading profile.

Preserve the front bumper attachment and equipment openings from the same body revision rather than assembling different facelift pieces by colour.

Separate inner and outer tail lights around the installed rear bumper and hatch revision.

The tailgate shell shell keeps its own glazing and latch interfaces; a rear cover reference does not approve the complete hatch.

Continue the identified order

Keep the full vehicle record with the HS system directory. The parts-list quotation guide covers quantities, destination and commercial details without assuming stock or price.
