MG HS SUVs • Petrol, Plug-in Hybrid and Hybrid+ identified separately
MG HS Petrol, Plug-in & Hybrid+ Parts
Compare MG HS petrol, plug-in hybrid and Hybrid+ parts programmes. Separate conventional accessories, turbo circuits, hybrid drives and confirmed AWD equipment.

Identify three different drive programmes
MG HS petrol, plug-in hybrid and non-plug-in Hybrid+ all retain combustion-engine records, but they are not one powertrain. Newer Hybrid+ uses a turbo engine; it should not inherit the naturally aspirated ZS Hybrid+ engine assumptions. Earlier plug-in drives and newer plug-in/Super Hybrid equipment keep their own transmission and electrical identities.
Separate conventional charging and cranking
A verified petrol belt-driven alternator and pinion starter can be requested as ordinary assemblies. A hybrid motor-generator or dedicated drive starting arrangement is a different programme. Keep the actual installed accessory route with belt and tensioner orders instead of adding a conventional alternator merely because a hybrid still contains an engine.
Keep turbo and injection evidence engine-specific
Turbocharging on petrol or newer hybrid equipment does not prove a shared wastegate, intercooler or fuel pump. Identify the real charge-air route and injection architecture, then retain actuator controls, manifold flanges and pressure-line seats. The tank delivery module remains separate from an engine-driven direct-injection pump.
Distinguish fluid circuits and cabin climate
Engine coolant, auxiliary low-voltage circulation, gearbox heat exchange, battery thermal management and refrigerant flow must be traced independently. A conventional mechanical A/C compressor does not approve a high-voltage electric unit. Specify the exchanger or low-voltage pump and its actual circuit; controlled high-voltage equipment requires a separately confirmed supply arrangement.
Do not infer an AWD hybrid
Some earlier petrol HS builds use AWD, while current front-wheel-drive records do not call for a longitudinal propeller shaft or rear final drive. A plug-in charge port, hybrid badge or independent rear suspension is not an AWD identification. Keep gearbox, axle and drive-unit labels with the accepted vehicle record.
Keep controlled units outside the ordinary list
Traction batteries, inverters, drive motors, dedicated hybrid transmissions and high-voltage compressors/heaters need separately confirmed sourcing, warranty, transport and configuration. They are not added to an ordinary parts quotation merely to make a list appear complete. Identify the actual unit and intended programme before requesting those assemblies.
Separate HS drive records
| HS drive programme | Vehicle record | Purchasing boundary |
|---|---|---|
| MG HS Petrol | Original HS generation and market, 1.5T or confirmed earlier 2.0T engine, manual/DCT label and FWD/AWD record | Earlier, facelift and second-generation petrol bodies remain separate. A manual clutch does not fit DCT equipment; AWD driveline items require an actual earlier 2.0T AWD build. |
| MG HS Plug-in Hybrid / EHS | Exact plug-in sales name, earlier or new generation, engine and hybrid-drive label, original market and production date | Earlier EHS/HS PHEV drive and newer plug-in/Super Hybrid equipment are not one gearbox or thermal programme. A charge socket does not make this vehicle a BEV. |
| MG HS Hybrid+ | Newer HS Hybrid+ generation, turbo engine, dedicated hybrid transmission and original market | Hybrid+ is non-plug-in; distinguish it from HS Plug-in Hybrid and from naturally aspirated ZS Hybrid+. Do not infer ordinary petrol charging, starting or AWD equipment. |
Related assembly comparisons
Keep the installed gearbox label with the transmission filter service position and transmission mount bracket.
A manual clutch kit request is for a confirmed manual build, not a DCT or dedicated hybrid drive.
Retain engine and gearbox labels with the engine mount and transmission mount positions.
The subframe body mounts and pickup points are a separate carrier specification, not proof of a common complete powertrain.
Keep the intercooler / charge-air cooler charge-air route with the turbocharger engine and actuator record.
The MAP / intake pressure sensor signal range and temperature function require their own installed interface rather than approval from similar boost plumbing.

| Heater Core | Exact HS generation, powertrain, fitted equipment and assembly interfaces | HVAC case, coolant tubes, core and seals |
| Oxygen Sensor | Exact HS engine, generation, component circuit and installed interfaces; a shared transmission does not approve engine-part interchange | Upstream/downstream role, full label, lead and socket |
| High-Pressure Fuel Pump | Only the identified direct-injection engine and high-pressure circuit; tank delivery remains separate | Engine and pump label, mounting, drive and fuel unions |
| Alternator | Conventional petrol alternator only; hybrid generating units require separate identification | Engine, output, bracket, pulley and control plug |
