MG4 Brakes, Suspension & Driven-Axle Parts
Compare MG4 friction brakes, suspension, steering and driven axles. Retain XPOWER tuning, Urban rear-beam geometry and exact wheel-corner interfaces.
Match the friction brake package, not wheel diameter
Regeneration does not remove pads and discs or identify their dimensions. Keep axle, pad outline, disc construction, caliper carrier and parking mechanism together. Urban brake dimensions vary by version, while XPOWER performance equipment requires its own acceptance record.
Separate the damper, spring and upper support
A bare front strut, complete spring-equipped unit and rear damper have different contents. Retain original axle load, chassis tune, body mounts and spring seats. A battery-size sales badge or similar ride height cannot approve an ordinary RWD damping specification for XPOWER or Urban.
Trace the actual rear suspension architecture
An MSP rear multi-link arrangement needs its separate links, upright and carrier records. Urban rear beam inquiries instead retain pivot bushes, spring seats and wheel-end plates. Do not substitute one architecture for another because the wheel hub or damper looks familiar.
Keep every driven corner with its own unit
Identify MSP rear-drive halfshafts, XPOWER front and rear shafts and Urban front shafts individually. Compressed length, joint format, splines and seal lands remain component-level checks. Wheel-speed encoders and bearing seats must follow the accepted knuckle and hub, not just the driven-wheel label.
Preserve steering and assistance interfaces
Keep LHD/RHD rack identity with thread, taper and body mounts. A tie rod, anti-roll link and ball joint have different jobs and cannot be ordered from one generic suspension description. Integrated electronic brake control and assistance modules are outside ordinary hose, caliper and linkage supply.
Related assembly decisions
Match brake pads to the installed brake caliper and brake discs as one accepted friction package.
A shared wheel diameter does not approve XPOWER or Urban braking dimensions.
Keep the brake hose inlet and side with the brake caliper.
For an EPB rear corner, specify whether the parking brake actuator is part of the caliper supply or a separate motor-only request.
The ABS wheel speed sensor reads the encoder at the wheel hub / bearing; the radio TPMS sensor reports tyre pressure instead.
Retain their different signal and installation records when preparing wheel-end quantities.
A bare shock absorber / strut does not include the coil spring or strut mount automatically.
Compare spring seats, upper bearing and original axle load before agreeing a complete strut package.
