MG5 Brakes, Suspension & Front-Drive Parts
Compare MG5 brakes, suspension, steering and front-drive assemblies. Retain body, wheel-corner, assistance and fitted parking-brake records.

Treat each friction brake package as one wheel-corner record
Keep pads, discs, caliper carrier and parking mechanism together when identifying a corner. Wheel diameter does not choose pad outline or rotor offset. Electric regeneration does not identify a friction compound, and a petrol sedan reference cannot approve an estate wheel end without its own installed dimensions and marking.
Identify assistance and parking mechanisms separately
A vacuum booster, external vacuum pump and integrated electronic brake controller have different supply boundaries. Confirm the actual assistance installation before comparing a master cylinder or servo. For parking brakes, establish cable or motor-on-caliper equipment instead of selecting an EPB actuator from the presence of a dashboard button.
Keep body load and spring seats with the damper
Compare axle load, spring grade, strut seat and upper mount as one accepted suspension package. A bare damper does not contain its spring or bearing automatically. Petrol sedan and Electric estate bodies can place different loads on similar-looking components, so retain exact body and corner records rather than using ride height as approval.
Compare front-driven interfaces, not an assumed AWD system
The identified sedan and estate requests use front driven-wheel records. Keep gearbox or drive-unit output, inner joints, splines and seal lands with each shaft. Rear suspension and wheel bearings do not create a rear differential, transfer unit or longitudinal propeller shaft. A similar joint photograph cannot choose the correct driven axle.
Check the actual beam and anti-roll equipment
A torsion beam and complete chassis carrier are distinct assemblies. Preserve body pivots, spring seats, hub plates and brake brackets before agreeing an equipped rear unit. A beam-type rear suspension does not automatically have a separate serviceable stabilizer bar or drop links; identify fitted equipment before adding quantities.
Related assembly decisions
Match brake pads to the installed brake caliper and brake discs as one friction package.
Wheel size and a shared MG5 name do not establish pad outline, disc offset or carrier clearance.
Identify the fitted assistance architecture before combining a brake master cylinder, brake booster or external brake vacuum pump.
A conventional vacuum-servo record does not approve an integrated electronic brake unit.
Keep the brake hose connection and corner with the brake caliper.
Add a parking brake actuator only where the identified rear caliper actually uses a separately supplied EPB motor.
The ABS wheel speed sensor reads the installed wheel hub / bearing encoder, while the radio TPMS sensor measures tyre pressure.
Their signals, seats and identification records are different despite both appearing in a wheel-corner list.
