MG HS Engine, DCT & Manual Service Parts
Prepare MG HS engine and gearbox service lists by fitted housings. Keep filtration, ignition, internal timing, petrol DCT and manual clutch contents distinct.

Separate engine intake and cabin service
Compare the engine air box and element against the actual engine, then identify the cabin filter from the steering-market HVAC tray. Different media grades do not fix an incorrect frame or seal. Manufacturer rows for another MG or Wuling vehicle are not HS approval, even when a retailer suggests the same aftermarket filter.
Keep lubrication interfaces with the engine
An oil cartridge, threaded spin-on element and complete filter housing have different order contents. Retain sealing faces, pickup or thread and the full engine label. Older 1.5T and 2.0T supplier entries can occur under one heading; use the row-specific description rather than the page title to identify the intended item.
Record the actual gearbox and service position
A petrol manual, different petrol DCTs, an earlier plug-in drive and a newer hybrid transmission do not select one filter. Verify that the element is separately serviceable and agree pickup, seals and access-related contents. A ratio count is not enough to approve a transmission service kit.
Keep manual clutch contents distinct
Use the confirmed manual gearbox, flywheel, disc dimensions, spline and release arrangement for a clutch request. DCT clutch packs and dedicated hybrid internal clutch parts remain separate. State disc, cover, bearing and hydraulic-component inclusion individually rather than assuming a complete kit contains every release part.
Separate internal timing from accessories
An accessory drive belt and its tensioner do not identify the internal timing architecture. Confirm chain or belt layout with the engine record, then agree guides, sprockets, tensioners and seals. Ignition plugs and coils also retain their own seat, heat range, boot and socket checks; displacement alone cannot choose the service set.
Related assembly comparisons
An engine intake request uses the engine air filter housing, while cabin airflow uses the cabin air filter tray.
Keep the engine oil filter seat with its exact engine rather than combining three different service locations into one assumed fitment.
Preserve the spark plugs seat and heat range when identifying the ignition coil boot.
A separate crankshaft position sensor request uses the engine signal target, not the ignition connector.
Trace the accessory drive belt route before comparing the belt tensioner pulley line.
Add a conventional alternator only when that charging unit is actually fitted; hybrid generating equipment remains separate.
Assemblies to identify separately
| Assembly | Application boundary | Selection record |
|---|---|---|
| Engine Air Filter | Exact HS generation, powertrain, fitted equipment and assembly interfaces | Engine code, air-box perimeter, depth and sealing lip |
| Cabin Air Filter | Exact HS generation, powertrain, fitted equipment and assembly interfaces | Tray dimensions, airflow direction, frame and media |
| Engine Oil Filter | Exact HS generation, powertrain, fitted equipment and assembly interfaces | Engine code, cartridge/spin-on format, dimensions and seal |
| Transmission Filter | Only an actually serviceable element for the identified DCT or hybrid drive; no generic common filter | Gearbox label, filter position, pickup and mounting |
| Spark Plugs | Exact HS generation, powertrain, fitted equipment and assembly interfaces | Engine marking, thread, reach, seat and heat range |
| Ignition Coil | Exact HS generation, powertrain, fitted equipment and assembly interfaces | Full label, socket key, fixing and boot reach |
| Accessory Drive Belt | Identified conventional petrol accessory route only; not hybrid generating-drive approval | Engine, complete belt code, rib count and route |
| Belt Tensioner | Confirmed petrol accessory tensioner or idler; internal timing and hybrid generator systems separate | Engine bracket, pulley line, width, arm travel and mounting |
| Engine Timing Kit | Verified petrol or hybrid engine timing architecture; chain/belt and accessory drives kept separate | Engine label, chain format, guides, tensioner and sprockets |
| Manual Clutch Kit | Confirmed petrol manual gearbox only; DCT and dedicated hybrid internal clutches excluded | Engine/MT code, disc spline, flywheel, cover and release system |
Continue the identified order
Keep the full vehicle record with the HS system directory. The parts-list quotation guide covers quantities, destination and commercial details without assuming stock or price.
Auto parts inquiry
Send the vehicle and part evidence.
Include brand, full model, year, engine or EV drivetrain, OE/material code, quantity, destination and packing request. You can attach a list or old-part photos.
