Nissan Patrol Diesel, V8 & V6 Parts Selection Guide
Use engine and injection architecture to avoid mixing older diesel equipment, petrol V8 service parts and newer V6 assemblies.
Distinguish diesel injection revisions
Earlier diesel injection and later common-rail systems need separate pump, injector and filtration specifications. Keep the engine label and the installed pump or injector reference together. A common displacement or ZD30 family description is not enough to select every fuel-system component.
Do not infer petrol injection from cylinder count
Earlier inline-six petrol and later V8 or V6 engines can have different ignition, fuel-pressure and control arrangements. Identify port or direct injection before asking for a high-pressure pump. Keep the low-pressure supply module separate from the engine-side injection stage.
Identify naturally aspirated and turbo equipment
The current Middle East Y63 range includes a 3.8 V6 as well as 3.5 twin-turbo applications. A V6 badge therefore does not prove that a turbocharger or charge-air cooler belongs on the order. For twin-turbo requests, retain the exact side or position and actuator identification.
Keep newer systems on their own application record
Y63 nine-speed automatic and grade-dependent suspension should not inherit Y62 V8 references. Likewise, an engine conversion requires the installed engine and accessory records in addition to the original chassis. Availability, sample approval and compatibility must be established for the specific assembly rather than assumed for an entire generation.
Apply the vehicle record to the component
Patrol Spark Plugs: Select plugs by the petrol engine specification, ignition arrangement, reach and seat. Keep earlier inline-six, Y62 petrol and Y63 V6 applications separate.
Patrol Glow Plugs: Identify the diesel engine and glow-control system before specifying voltage, tip length and connector. Cold-start equipment is engine-specific rather than common to all Patrol diesels.
